Bloodshot eyes! Nose bleeds! What on earth are you doing in Denver to bring on such ailments?
I stopped in Denver while I was moving from New York to Oregon. I visited the art museum and on my way out I walked through a park where some thuggish teens threw a snowball at me. That night I ate buffalo and then drove to Albuquerque and slept in my car.

Hi Gabe,
Now it's Spring. Lilacs are starting.
I went to Denver last week and my eyes were bloodshot for three days. The altitude? I suppose so.
Other people not from Denver complained of nose bleeds.
Ever been to Denver? I've only been to downtown where there are a lot of tall buildings. If you walk down the right streets, you can see mountains in the distance.
There was an auto show, too. I woke up very early in Denver, and did a lot of walking. It was nice to not drive at all.

The bug tacos were semi DIY. The place had tortillas that they had put bugs (larva), onion, cilantro and a little sauce (we think it was crema freska) into.
They also had bugs with avocado and salsa on tortilla chips.
The different dishes had different bugs.
They also had little bowls so you could snack on sauteed bugs.
THere was also a "live bar". That made me feel a little barbaric though.

Hi, G
Does eating bugs taco-style mean that there were taco shells stuffed with bug?
Intriguing to imagine whether you got to stuff your own taco or not.
This morning I taught a class where we wrote for nearly all of the two hours, with some talking in between. The guy who would have grumbled about so much writing left early, so we had good fun.
Now that I'm thirty, my eyes get bloodshot, I'm eating carrots tonight, wondering if 9:30 is too early to go to bed. I'm not going to think too hard about it.

In a frying pan over high heat add oil and butter.
-Do not add salt!
Add desired amount of eggs.
-Stir continuously.
Take pan off heat periodically to prevent eggs from drying out.
Once eggs are cooked, but not quite dry, add a table spoon or so of plain yogurt (the recipe actually calls for Crème fraiche).
-Stir in yogurt.
-Remove from heat.
-Salt and pepper to taste.

Not to dwell on the subject of food, but, we went to a bug eating event at a local gallery. We ate crickets (Mexican style; with chili powder), meal worms and some sort of beetle. We had them all in taco form. It seemed like most of the participants were more interested in taking pictures of bugs than they were in actually eating them.

Hi Gabe,
I eat lots of eggs, and I am curious about this new method you've learned - sounds fluffy. I had a tiny omelet this morning instead of driving to _____ in the snow. I just kept letting it fall and kept not changing out of my pjs. I decided it was my snow day. I wonder what a haunted restaurant is like? I think I might eat in a rush. A guy I went on a few dates with recently also had some sort of exciting encounter with lots of kinds of meat.I'm not a vegetarian, but it wasn't much of a conversation starter for me. Meat's ok. The guy is pretty cool, too, but I think we're done dating. Now it's raining.

Dear Pen-Pal,
I haven't been doing much of the cooking lately. I do cook breakfast, but that's
Do you eat eggs?
We went to a haunted restaurant that specialized in exotic meats. I had a variety of intriguing dishes, which I wont list here, in case you are a vegetarian and such things will gross you out.

Hi Gabe,
I looked on youtube for you name, so I could see you dancing, but I think maybe I haven't spent enough time on youtube to feel like I know my way around. Send me a link if your up for sharing? I didn't end up at the opera, or even in Leipzig, but I did see the Alps and some dear old friends, and a prison, and a baroque creche with humongous and sort of ominously ornate angels. Right now I'm making lots of soups and roasted veggies. Also short fiction and one long piece that you'd probably recognize bits from my first summer at _____. Draft four in the works hoping to have draft five by March.
What are you cooking these days?
